Talk To Me is a module that simulates chatting with characters living in Sydney Australia using AI. The characters can talk to you, and this helps you practice speaking English. Chatting helps students exercise their language response to verbal stimuli in real time. Just by chatting with the AI, students will notice how some ideas can be expressed in conversations and learn much about choice of words and new expressions. The need to react in real time really helps students think in English. In order to make the other side understand, students will try to adapt and respond in different ways.

What you can do.

• Speak and use voice to text, and then send it to the AI to talk to the AI characters. There are two female characters: Emily (very bubbly and sweet) and Annie (who loves classic books and is a great writer). There are also two male characters: Michael (charming, a bit arrogant, and not paying attention to details) and Steve (a big man, sensitive, and attentive to details). Additionally, there are two teacher characters for younger students to use. Mrs. Bear is very tough but talented in teaching, with her students' benefit at heart. Mr. Apple is very good-looking and nice but weak and often taken advantage of by students. There is also an AI character called Mimi. It listens and responds without judging, and it is suitable for young kids with simple English. Mimi is also the best for help in IELTS exams and general knowledge. The characters are created with different personalities and individual traits.
  
• You can read or play what the AI character talks back to you using text-to-voice.
  
• There is a timer set to 60 seconds to automatically send your speech text to the AI for interactions. It helps you get an idea how much time you think for a response. You can change this time delay to suit your speed. In case of inactivity, 5 seconds will be added to each cycle. By changing it to a very high number, you effectively disable this automatic processing.
  
• If you have an account with the Mathemafix website, you can view the chat log. You can clear chat history with a character using the FIRE button. This clears the history, and there is no memory of past chat sessions, so you can start fresh. You can also set up your own character for chatting. You need to prepare a character description and provide a GIF image (which could be an animated GIF) for your character.
  

Currently, there is no male voice available on mobile phones. You can get a UK male voice on Windows using the Chrome browser. When this module runs on a phone, the male characters are hidden.
